Vancouver is home to the best beer in Canada

Canada Beer Cup Champion, new releases, Halloween events

Happy Friday!

Off the Rail Brewing will soon be making beers with recipes designed by and in collaboration with award-winning home brewers. Such an awesome idea and I can't wait to taste the first releases.

BC's breweries did exceptionally well at the Inaugural Canada Beer Cup, taking home the top prize. Scroll down to see who won and for which beer.

This weekend, there are plenty of Halloween parties to choose from, and as always, an impressive lineup of new beer releases across a variety of beer styles. Have a great weekend!

A Zesty Pilsner

Slow Hand Beer Company has collaborated with Temporal Ales to bring back Aurumemoria, a pilsner that features malts grown in the Pacific Northwest and a German hop variety called Aurum, which offers classic German hop characters (spicy, herbaceous, with notes of citrus). "The result is crispy...with a lovely and mellow citrus zestiness on the finish.

Take a Walk on the Dark Side

With fall making a dramatic entrance with this weekend's rain storms, a dark ale can feel so cozy and appropriate for this weather. White Sails Brewing has brought back its favourite "light-dark" ale. The Dark Side is light bodied, easy drinking, with roasted chocolate malt notes. Rounded out with an earthy hop profile.
