Lavender Drops, Heated Patios, Easter Festivities
Your weekend primer
Things you discover when you meet soccer parents at team parties:
Making homemade hummus makes you an instant hit.
Tell them about your day job? Reverses all the good will the hummus brought you.
Tell them you write about beer? They become your best friend.
I'll lead with beer next time. Have a great weekend!

What to drink
Seasonal release: lavender, honey and lemon drop
Farm Country Brewing is releasing one of its seasonal beers today and this one screams springtime. Untapped raters have had good things to say about this one in previous years, calling it pleasant, bright, light, warm, crushable, floral, and mellow.
The specs:
ABV: 5.5%
IBUs:20
Brewer's notes
Our Farm House Ale features lavender from Tuscan Farm Gardens in Abbotsford and honey from the KPU beekeeping program in Langley. Honey added during the boil gives this beer subtle sweet floral notes and a dry finish. Dry hop additions of lavender and lemondrop hops further accentuate the lemony floral flavours and Lithuanian Jovaru yeast provides light peppery highlights
Where to go
Hit up a heated patio near you
The weather is looking promising across the province this weekend. A bit of sunshine and temperatures in the early teens means all we're missing is a heated patio to take the edge off. Not sure if your local brewery has a heated patio? No sweat, here's a cheat sheet (all links take you to Google Maps📍)
