It's time to say goodbye

After a year, it's time to move on

It’s time to say goodbye

Beer Loopers,

This week marks the one-year anniversary of The Beer Loop.

It also marks the end of The Beer Loop.

Beyond the daily demands of our jobs, families, community volunteering, writing The Beer Loop has been a considerable investment our time and money.

As the Beer Loop grew, so did our costs.

We attempted to make The Beer Loop sustainable through memberships, donations, and beer appreciation courses.

And here’s the raw truth: none have worked.

It’s hard to convince people to purchase a subscription when you could spend it on beer. Heck, we can’t blame you! We’d probably do the same in your shoes.

We had fun bringing The Beer Loop to life and building this community of beer lovers. We learned a lot. We met some incredible people. We made friends. And we’ll be forever grateful for this experience.

However, we cannot continue doing so at a significant cost to our time and pocketbooks.

Which means we need to make some changes.

Effective today, The Beer Loop has been acquired by Lookout Media, the team behind Vancity Lookout.

Vancity Lookout brings you local news, connecting you to local experiences, including food, beer, and wine.

Moving forward, you’ll find our occasional take on BC’s craft beer in Vancity Lookout, including the latest beer releases and events. If you haven’t already, you can subscribe to the Lookout below.

Vancity LookoutNews. Food. People. Events. A newsletter for locals who love Vancouver. (And you'll actually love reading). Delivered 3x a week for free and read by 20,000+ locals.

It’s been fun!
