FEATURED NEW BEER RELEASES
Time Machine
Here's a fun concept: Hold back cans of of a beer you've brewed over the course of three years, and then release them in one 4-pack. It's like a time machine, giving you a chance to taste how a beer evolves over time. That's the latest creative concept from Container Brewing. The beer of choice: Seawise Giant, an Imperial Stout. There are only 50 packs available, so you may need to head to the brewery pronto.
Available: At the brewery, probably for an exceptionally short period of time.
A New Cyclhops
Strange Fellows has a new version of its popular single hopped IPA. The latest version of Cyclhops was made with Sultana hops. Sultana (formerly known as Denali) is an interesting hop. It took 10 years to develop and it offers big flavours of pineapple, pine, and bright citrus. A single-hop beer like this gives you a chance to appreciate a single hops variety in all its glory.
Available: in the tasting room and online now. In liquor stores next week.
Sweet and Smoky
Here's an annual release that continues to change with every year. Steel & Oak has been making this Doppelbock since 2015, but because smoked malt can vary year-on-year, every year is its own vintage. This Smoked Honey Doppelbock features honey from New West to bring a subtle sweetness to balance out the beechwood smoke.
Available: At the brewery and in liquor stores.

NEWS
BC Beer Awards
It's award season. Two weeks ago, we had the Canada Beer Cup, which saw Vancouver's own Callister Brewing take home the big prize. (You can find the full list of winners from that competition here). First of all, congrats to Comox's Gladstone Brewing for winning Brewery of the Year! And a big congrats to the Rookie of the Year, Smuggler's Trail!
No surprise that Langley's Camp Beer Co. won best tasting room design. It's an award the brewery has won before and with good reason. The tap-room is a refreshingly unique experience. Also no surprise that Dageraad won best saison and place 2nd and 3rd in the Strong Belgian Ale category.
Of course, we were delighted to see that some of our favourite beers from months past earned some hardware, notably Wildeye Brewing's Czech Pilsner, Russell Brewing's Pale Ale, and North Point's Lite Lager.
